GOLD Coasters are set for a stellar celtic celebration involving emerald-hued hordes sinking pints of Guinness, belting out Irish favourites and kicking up their heels for St Patrick’s Day today. Pubs throughout the city are gearing up for one of their biggest days on the calendar which will please both locals and Irish people living in Australia to be sure, to be sure.
Live bands playing music from the Emerald Isle, traditional dancers doing jigs and Irish food specials will be on offer. Everyone in Australia turns Irish for the day, said Waxy’s Irish Pub manager Dave Barnes.
Lansdowne Road Irish Tavern management said a band would go in to play at 8pm, while music would kick off at O’Malleys On The Beach at 3pm. At Harrigan’s Irish Pub, Irish music will play most of the day, which will include pipers and Irish dancing in the afternoon.
