The Choking Game also known as the Fainting Game is a dangerous game and each year 1000 kids die due to this game. It is also called by other names like pass out, blackout, scarf game, space monkey or flat liner. Many children and young practice this game as a game of recreation or some times to get rid of some trouble. It consists of 2 activities throttling and forced over breathing that results in choking and even sometimes lead to death of the person.

A seminar related to the choking game and the precautionary measure that should be taken to prevent the children from this game will be held next Monday at 6:00 p.m. at Rusk Elementary in Midland. The purpose of this seminar will be to educate the parents about this wide spreading deadly game through out the country. The education consultant of the Region 18 Education Service Center, Andy Sustaita, will present the seminar. Before that he has presented same nature of seminars in many schools and he always used audio and video slides for the education of the parents.

There are many organizations that are working to stop this dangerous game. Regarding this they are setting up different meetings and seminars so that parents could be aware of the deadly results of this game. According to Ramowski’s group, children in the rural areas play the chocking game more than the children in the urban areas. They also found in a research that one out of every three children had heard about this game. In this research it is also found that 3% of the children had helped someone and about 6% had taken part in the game. It is predicted that this game is mostly played by the children who donot engage themselves in drugs or drinking. It is an extremely dangerous game and measures should be taken to stop the game.
