Chorbari Glacier is situated at Rudraprayag district in Uttaranchal. It has many holiest shrines of Uttaranchal and it is known to be one of the most important glaciers of Uttaranchal. It is known to be the most important tourists destination in Uttaranchal and it is separated from the other glaciers of the Gangotri group by a range of hills and a water divide.

The Chorbari Glacier starts from the southern slope of the Kedar-dome and it is a must visit while on a tour to Uttaranchal. There are many subsidiary glaciers and avalanche chutes hang over the glacier and the glacier starts from its accumulation zone at around 600m above sea level and ends at 3800m above sea level. The glacier develops River Mandakini, a river which is known to be holding immense significance in the history of Hinduism.

The River Mandakini later divides joins with river Alakananda, which is another important river of Uttaranchal. On the way to Chorbari Glacier the tourists can visit Kedarnath Temple which is one of the most important temples in the country. There is a small lake located near the glacier which is formed by melted snow of the Chorbari Glacier known as Ganghi- Sarovar. The best time to visit the Chorbari Glacier is during the summer and autumn Season.
