When Aparna Sen’s film Gulel was once again brought to a standstill with Kajol’s hubby Ajay Devgan turning it down, Konkana Sen decided to help her mother helm her dream project by suggesting that Aparna approach Ranbir Kapoor for the role.
Konkana made the suggestion after noticing Ranbir very keenly listening to her while she was mentioning it to him on the sets of Wake Up Sid. She was happy to see him rapt in attention and told her mother to try and approach Ranbir with the script of the film if she thought he’d fit the bill. Mom Aparna seemed to have no problem with Ranbir and Konkona went back to him and set up a meeting for a script narration.
A week later when they were shooting for the same film, Konkana brought her mother along and introduced her to Ranbir. The two got along famously and Ranbir is said to have loved the script and is keen on doing the project.As the film is set during the winter, Aparna would be only too glad if the film would go on the floors at the end of the year, and Ranbir is working out his dates to make that possible. It would be a treat to finally see Aparna returning to mainstream Bollywood with Gulel.
