Ravichandran, lovingly called Crazy Star . Who is the busy bee in Kannada filmdom of late? Obviously Ravichandran – the ‘Kanasugara’! Year 2004 saw three films of his while three more are in the pipeline.Trailblazer, multifaceted actor, filmmaker Ravichandran needs no introduction. He is a household name not just as an actor, but also for his sincerity and commitment towards his work. After decades of experience in the film industry, Ravichandran has learnt something.

Incidentally, Ravichandran is also known to cast only Mumbai-based actresses in his films. He says, they are the only ones who know what it takes to be an actress and therefore keep themselves in great shape no matter how successful they are. Actress Prema featuring in this film, therefore, is the outcome of a pretty rare situation.

Is an actor, director, producer, music director, and lyricist in the Kannada film industry. He is the son of film producer N.Veeraswamy. As producer, Ravichandran continues to run his father’s production house, Sri Eswari Productions. He is popularly known as “Crazy Star” Ravichandran, a title fans have prefixed to his name.

Ravichandran has had a chequered career spanning more than two decades as actor, director, producer, music director, and lately, as a lyricist.

Ravichandran’s first major success as director was Prema Loka.

He is known as a non-conformist, and created his own style of filmmaking. Most of his movies show very little influence of other directors except Prema Loka, which contains traces of Grease 2. Notable aspects of his filmmaking include a curious combination of close ups, abrupt fast-cuts, and innovative camera angles. He is renowned in the Kannada film industry for his understanding of the technical aspect of cinema. His movies are lavishly mounted and stand out for superior production values distinguished for cinematography, sound, lighting, and special effects.
