Congress wants Priyanka to contest……

After Rahul Gandhi, the Congress wants his sister Priyanka to contest in the coming Lok Sabha elections. The Uttar Pradesh Congress has demanded that the Congress leadership field Priyanka in the elections from Uttar Pradesh. After the demand from the UP  Congress unit for fielding Priyanka Gandhi from the state in the coming Lok Sabha elections, the Congress today also called her a “ youth icon ” but left the decision to contest or not to “Priyanka and the Congress president Mrs. Sonia Gandhi”.

The Uttar Pradesh Congress has demanded that the Congress leadership field Priyanka in the elections from Uttar Pradesh.  The senior Congress leader M Veerappa Moily  said that “Whenever we go to the people, they ask us why don’t you ask Priyanka to contest elections. He also added that “She is a youth icon and “this will (Priyanka contesting elections) definitely help the party and the country.

UPCC chief Rita Bahuguna Joshi, however, said that we want Priyanka to contest the next Lok Sabha polls but Priyanka will take the final decision, wether she wants to contest or not. Thirty-five-year-old Priyanka had campaigned for her mother and brother extensively in Rae Bareily and Amethi in the last Lok Sabha election. The Congress has given an option of five seats to Priyanka, which are Lucknow, Muradabad, Farukhabad, Allahabad and Sultantanpur. Priyanka will contest the April-May parliamentary poll from Muradabad or any other constituency of UP. According to the Congress if Priyanka contests her first choice will be Muradabad.
