The original drummer of The Who band

Keith Moon the original drummer of The Who band had long left the band when he died in 1978. Taking his place in 1994, Zak Starkey joined The Who as their 4th drummer and is also known as Oasis’ drummer too. 44-year-old Zak Starkey is the son of famous Ringo Star a.k.a. Richard Starkey.Gone are the days when The Who comprised of original members such as Roger Daltrey, Pete Townshend, Keith Moon and John Entwistle, the respective vocalist, guitarist, drummer and bassist. Together they formed a rock solid rock band while in the year 1964 and with this primary lineup they made a name for themselves.

With the passage of time, the original members kept on leaving the group. Their drummer for long time Keith Moon died in the year 1978 followed by John Alec Entwistle that stayed for a longer period though; however in the year 2002 on 27 June, he also died. John was the bass guitarists and he was part of greater successes the group achieved.Though they are not that explosive as they would have been some years back yet on Sunday night the performance by whatever is left behind i.e. lead singer Daltrey, guitarist Pete and Zak, was just remarkable. Remember The Who was the group that topped the charts with 27 top 40 singles in the U.S. and U.K. In the U.S. alone, their albums earned the band 5 Multi-Platinum, 12 Platinum and 18 Gold album awards.

They tried their heart out to win the charms of the audiences with nearly 75,000 present at the stadium whereas millions of trillions of viewers watching from homes. Keeping in focus the shortage of time, the band remained brief too and starting with ‘Pinball Wizard,’ they moved quickly to ‘Baba O’Riely.’ Later they were on to ‘Who Are You,’ which was followed by ‘See Me, Feel Me,’ a musical nod and then the fans heard them sing ‘Won’t Get Fooled Again.’
