This post contains information about "Steps for editing an Adobe PDF Document". |
Portable Document Format, or PDF for short, was established so that entire documents could be transported over the Internet in their entirety and not as individual pages. Downloading the file required the Reader software, that Adobe produced for all computers, to gain access and open an Adobe file. Up to now, though, editing was reserved only for those fortunate enough to own the pricey Adobe products. With a few simple clicks, you can download and edit Adobe PDF Documents and not have to pay one dime.

1. The first step is to download the latest Adobe Acrobat Reader. If you don’t have the Reader, or you don’t have the latest version, click on the Resources link below to get up-to-date. It’s free and doesn’t require much time to download on most high speed Internet computer systems. Once you have that downloaded.
2. In this step you will need to download a PDF document, if you haven’t downloaded any at this point. Although this article will show you how to convert pdf files to Microsoft Word, it is limited for how many pages it will convert for you. For this example, we will use a previously downloaded script of a popular Christian sermon, True and False Conversions by Ray Comfort of Way of the Master Ministries. The original sermon is 12 pages long, but the free software can be programmed to download all after repeating certain steps, which we will cover later.
3. Next, you will want to go to the VeryPDF2Word Conversion website (see picture). You can find it simply by going to the link in the Resources section of this article. Although they want you to buy the software, you can download a free sample that will enable you to convert up to 100 pages of documents in the portable document format. Once you download that, you will see an icon on your desktop that resembles four boxes stacked together. Click on that icon and a window pops up offering you to “Buy” or “Try.” Click on “Try.
4. In the box that opens up, you will see a box similar to the one in the picture. Disregard all the information there and go to the upper left-hand corner and select “File.” When the File window opens up, select “Open.” At that point, a window appears in your My Documents folder and you must choose a PDF file to open. Once you click on the pdf of your choice.
5. In this step, we will be choosing the format suited for the editing we need to accomplish. As in the picture, a “Preferences” window appears and you must select the choice right for you. If text boxes are important, you must select the appropriate circle. If images, then another selection must be chosen. Only one selection can be made here. You might have to experiment with certain selections to find what works for you. Once you have made your choice, select “OK” and the conversion will begin.
6. This window pops up to show the conversion that is taking place. A cute little red horse is seen galloping and full speed in the box for your entertainment. The conversion is fairly quick. When it is complete, a file will appear for you to save your newly converted pdf file as a Word document. Before saving the file, another window pops up letting you know that the conversion is complete but limited to only 5 pages. It puts a little plug in for purchasing the software to avoid limitations in future conversions.
7. As you save your newly converted Word document, it automatically accesses the Word document and you see it appear before you. As you see in the picture, the document opens up in a “field” format and, in this case, a rectangular box appears when you click within a paragraph field. The cursor goes to wherever you placed it and you can make the necessary editing you desire. When you are done, simply save your newly edited document which you converted for free quickly and painlessly using the directions in this article.
