The Library of Congress is celebrating the joy of reading this weekend with the 2009 National Book Festival.  The event is organized and sponsored by the Library of Congress.  It will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2009, on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., between 7th and 14th streets from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.  The festival is free and open to the public.

There is a long list of authors that will be in attendance this year including:  David Baldacci, Mary Jane Clark, John Grisham, John Irving, Michael Connelly, James Patterson, Nicolas Sparks, Craig Johnson, Nikki Grimes, Megan McDonald, David Shannon, Mo Willems, and many more.  For a complete list of the authors, click here

PBS kids will be in attendance and perform many children’s readings throughout the day.
