This post contains information about "Steps to Plan your Business for the New Year". |
Business & Marketing Plan for a New Year.
1. Goal. 95% of your success is the reason why you are doing it. Desire ignites us all, leading to results. The rest is how you do it. If you know why you do it, the how will become much easier to handle.
For me in sales the goal is annual income or number of transactions.
2. Plan. You can’t get there without a map. A plan of attack is critical. I have to look at where I get my business from. How can I increase what I am doing? What was my budget for marketing in the past and how did it work? If it was successful, but I need more response, I will need to add more to the budget to have gain for the following year. Decide how many days a week and year you want to work. Schedule your vacation time now. If you only want to work 4 days a week then you will have to make more calls, or do more networking on those days. Our plan narrows it down where you can see exactly the number of contacts I have to make each day, to get to the goal.
3. Skill. What are you good at? Why are you different or better than the competition? As a realtor I hate cold calls, or doorknocking. I won’t do it. But I recognize the things I enjoy and that I am good at and instead find ways to increase what I am doing. How could your business change if you just made 1 more contact each day? Is there something you need to learn more of? Educate yourself to become a more efficient game player.
4. Action. Now can and will you implement this into your routine? A great plan and no will to work won’t get you anywhere. Always go back to your motivation. Let it be the driving force behind how you live your life.
Make a daily schedule to support the goals you’ve set. Keep it in front of you for motivation.
5. Reevaluate. Hang in There. Failures can be valuable lessons. Improve your deficiencies with new skills. Always be learning. If necessary make your goals easier or more challenging to lead to success. Don’t forget to do a checkup a few times during the year to see if you are on track.
